Black Tea

Black tea has the highest caffeine content of the teas. It is made by allowing tea leaves to oxidize.

Green Tea

Brewed green tea comes in various shades of green or yellow green hues. The leaves are plucked, withered, and then rolled up. There have been numerous studies concluding that green tea has several health benefits from lowering the risk of heart disease to protecting from cancer. If you'd like to learn more about the health benefits of drinking green tea, please visit the University of Maryland Medical Center website.

White Tea

White tea is very pale once it is brewed, because it is not allowed to ferment like some of the other types of tea. This is the type of tea that is the least processed, where the tea leaves essentially just wither. There is not much oxidation that occurs. Think of a ripening banana. As it ages, it starts to get brown spots and eventually becomes browner and browner until it becomes almost black. White tea is like a banana that is just starting to get some brown spots on its skin.
